FORT JESUS - MOMBASA

Fort Jesus is located within the island city of Mombasa. It is the Mombasa's most popular tourist attraction. The fort, located along the coastline near the Old Town, is a monumental piece of architecture that was built in the 16th century by the Portuguese. Here you have a chance to see some of the cannons used in war and visit different rooms within the fort. Some of the rooms were used as prisons, other as stores. A visit of the fort will give you a chance to learn more on pre-colonial times.
